Juicing 101
Whether it was a fad or something you do every day, juicing is an excellent way to slam some hearty vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. I highly recommend juicing on a daily or weekly basis. Juicing separates the pulp from the fiber so it’s easier to digest and there’s immediate absorption into the bloodstream. We all know how beneficial fiber is. Be adventurous with your juices; add a fruit for every 3 vegetables, add lemon/lime/ginger/red pepper for some zing.
Choosing organic produce is always preferred. If that is not an option, thoroughly wash produce before juicing.
Benefits: fast absorption of nutrients, increase energy, clear thinking, healthy eyes and skin, strong hair and nails, stronger immune system, and improve appetite control.
My favorite juice for headache/migraine control:
2 celery stalks
2 carrot sticks
1 green apple
1 red apple
3 handfuls of pre-cut Kale or 2 full leaves
4 cilantro stands
1 slice of ginger
Sprinkle red pepper at bottom of glass (optional)
