The Holidays are among us and we are inundated with sugary treats, candies, cookies, chocolates, cakes, alcohol, hot chocolate, and so much more! Let’s take a quick peek into how sugar effects Inside and Out!
Inside: creates mucus, promotes inflammation, memory deficits, may increase blood pressure, creates a false sense of being full, disrupts the gut microbiome, increase risk of diabetes, increases risk of cancer and heart disease,
Outside: wrinkles, weight gain, tooth decay, insomnia, allergies, hair loss, hyperactive, inattention.
Sugar is 8 times more addictive than illegal drugs. The same pleasure centers light up in your brain and your body continues to want that same feeling, hence the craving at the same time every day. If you’re going to indulge, drink plenty of water. Do not cave to the cravings daily. Once that daily habit is formed it’s harder to go back. Don’t buy it for your house. If you are at a party take half or what you normally would eat.
