Sugar and Anxiety
As we sit and sit and sit some more inside., waiting for the return of “normal.”
We tend to reach for comfort food, sweets, snack items, especially if it's gloomy like Chicago.
Sugar is 8x more addictive than illegal drugs! With that comes a tolerance. The more sugar you eat the more you want. The result of that is an unhealthy gut microbiome, that microbiome can begin to cause anxieties and sad feelings.
These sugary snacks will give you a quick jolt of comfort and feel good feelings, but the aftermath creates more anxieties and emotional upset, and it weakens the immune system. WE can’t afford to have a weak immune system. Stay strong physically and mentally with your fruits and vegetables.
This is not the time to start cheating. Keep up the good work with all your fruits and vegetables!
