I don't know about you but I love sleep 💤 Sweet Precious Sleep 💤

In general, we don't get enough of it. When we do we may feel guilty or are judged for sleeping in. We live in a time where we are constantly rushed and made available thanks to technology, so we feel like we have to be "On" all the time.

Sleep is extremely important to reset our systems, to digest the day and to start again the next day fresh and on point.

Right before the Illinois Shelter in Place order took effect, I was running around during the day and in the evenings trying to squeeze it all in, groceries, dinner, activities, appointments etc. When the order was official, I could barely get out of bed by the alarm and allowed myself to just sleep. It took a solid few weeks for me to actually feel rested. And I was perfectly Ok with that.

Your body will let you know when you've gone too far, you just have to listen!

So how do you sleep better?

1)   Create a routine and schedule. Start your nightly routine at the same time every night, this way your body will acclimate and come to expect it. Kids, especially really benefit from the routine

2)   Minimize screen time. Try to put your device away about 1-2hours before bed

3)   Do not sleep with your device next to your bed.

4)   Use a digital alarm clock

5)   Read a book in bed

6)   Play soft music

7)   Meditate
